The properties of truffle: an aphrodisiac par excellence
The properties of truffle as only food use, are many but not everyone knows of their existence: one of these, is his being one of the best aphrodisiac foods along with oysters and saffron.
Thanks to the love goddess Aphrodite, the term “aphrodisiac” was coined, commonly used in the course of time to indicate the ability of a food to stimulate the sensuality in men as in the women.

In fact, there are some foods that really have a concrete action on the libido or to erectile dysfunction, exerting an action on the blood circulation.
History has a lot to tell about truffles; it was already appreciated by the ancient Romans. There are many cooking treated arrived down to us over time and from different cultures. What sparked a thousand assumptions about the aphrodisiac power of the truffle is the dell’androsterone presence, substance capable of creating a state of excitement in sows and present in pigs. In fact, during past decades were used sows to find truffles, attracted by the smell that emanates truffles thanks to the androsterone. In the last years of the twentieth century began to speculate on a scientific theory of it as sexual stimulant, and the answer that came from researchers from the universities of Monaco and Lubeck, confirmed that the effects of aphrodisiacs truffles were real.
They found traces between its molecules of odorous, substances acting at the olfactory level, that determined a subtle, unconscious sexual attraction to the opposite sex both in animals and humans.
It was found the presence of a substance similar to testosterone: the alpha-androstenol. During the phase of lovemaking some of these odorous substances are secreted, including pheromones, which attract the female coupling prepared.
This fact has opened up the imagination in human minds, hoping for the same effect also in human being.
